Hi,did the test twice blacktown. It seems that these guys have a quota to adhere toNah theyre just being really fussy which is a very good thing. Just take in what they say and keep it in mind for next time. Its pretty standard practice to fail a couple of times these days. Ud be more frustrated if they let ppl get licences really easily and then lowered speed limits even more to band aid the problem of the higher accident rate. Dw about it man. Keep trying. Ive had friends who did it 4 5 times before passing. Just try again mate, Its a bs test anyway. The amount of time your supposed to spend looking in the mirrors is silly. And the round about thing pfft bl. RTA. wan 2b u writes. But not well enough to be licensed, obviously. Listening and practice will get you a licence quicker than whinging. True, the test is bs but we all have to go through it. I remember when I did mine, I couldnt get an instructor because we just didnt have the money at the time so had no clue about the route or any advice so what we did was we parked outside the RTA and stalk the people doing the test lol like in the crime movies when a cop follows a suspect lol, was so fun. Got my license on the 2nd go, first one got done for not doing head check if you are first at the lights which I would have known if we could have afforded an instructor. Anyway gl mate. Diesel. True, the test is bs but we all have to go through it. It should be BS, no wonder why we have so many crap drivers on the roads these days. Tests needs to be tougher and harder. No pass Youre not ready. Tests needs to be tougher and harder. No pass Youre not ready. Yes it does, what it does need to test isnt even coverd whilst honestly rather trivial things are. The fact someone doesnt pass the RTAs current test means almost nothing in my eyes. Helps if you have a driving lesson and or a supervised critique the hell out of yourself drive before doing your test. If you make any mistakes minor things I would pray then make them before your test. Thats what my instructor tells me anyway. I have my test on the 1. Jan. I failed twice too, one thing each time. Annoying as hell, expensive, but dont get your hopes down. I aced the very next test. And yes, the test is pedantic and weird, but you have to pass it anyway. Just keep trying and youll get there. Its absurd that the biggest challenge people think theyll face on the test is a reverse parallel park. Isnt it funny our abstraction from hurtling around in a ton or two of metal at almost 2. Dont rush getting your licence its probably the most personally expensive including financial risk and dangerous pastime most people ever do. Glad I wasnt the only one thinking that. Sometimes its really hard to understand how some people out there on the road actually passed the tests for their license. There is people out there, who can drive but just dont care and drive like idiots. If they drove on the test, anything like they drive now, you wonder WHY they got their license. But there is people out there who clearly do not understand some very basic rules and common sense practices. And are just not comfortable behind the wheel. In this case you ask WHY and HOW they got their license. To the OP. Just keep trying and dont let it stress you out. Frustration could only make you fail again. Perhaps if they retested all those that virtually got their license out of a Weeties packet they wouldnt be so fast to criticise I only got mine because when we finished I said, Well, that was pretty bad wasnt it. He gave it to me because I could see my errors which werent that bad. Failed the motorbike one because he asked, How should you apply your brakes, meaning front, back, or both, and it what measure My reply was it depends what road surface youre on bitumen, gravel etc. On bitumen Id pretty much apply equal force to both, on gravel less on the front. His opinion was equal on any surface. I failed he was wrong in my opinion. Went to my dads place in the country and did the proverbial ride around the block and got it. Ableton writes. I have one sibling who drove impressively well, passed the test, continued for their first year to drive amazingly, and then as their ps and onto opens went on has deteriorated to the point where it was down right scary seeing them driveIts things like this which depressingly makes the need for compulsory retesting be considered. I think its attitude that you have got to a point where you know what to do and how to do it, you generally wouldnt be putting anyone in unavoidable harms way before practice got you over the line. Failed the motorbike one because he asked, How should you apply your brakes, meaning front, back, or both, and it what measure My reply was it depends what road surface youre on bitumen, gravel etc. This is probably a result of the lowest common denominator training these days thats too complex for your learning mind or some such. Its how these days youre not at all taught and strongly encourage to wipe from your mind the exit strategy defensive riding, but to just break and nothing else. To apply to the OP there are things that they just want you to do to make a habit of to hope that it sticks long term, even though it just seems like jumping through the hoops. Check the mirrors and head check much more often then makes sense gives the impression that hopefully when you get lazy after driving for a few years, on a drive where youre a bit worn out, you will get the urge to glance maybe once every 3. And there are things they require you to do because they cant find a better way to assess a related skill simply and for those, by the textbook theres no other way. Lean, have some good luck and stay safean include just breaking. Sometimes you get good and sometimes you get bad driving examiners. When I did mine, I got called for not doing a shoulder check when pulling the car in for a reverse park. Luckily the guy was awesome, so I managed to pass the test first time. Depends on the person really. Sometimes theyll get up on you for any damn little thing. Sometimes theyll look at it and think Well, it was minimal and heshe seems to be a good driver. The test is BS anyway. Being harder isnt what needs to be done, changing it to make it a little more realistic is what needs to be done. Exaggerate your head checks, keep a nice 5 km under the speed limit and be confident when you have to do tricky maneuvers. Dont say out loud when you pull up to a big turn Uh. I turn now. I know it sounds stupid but I know a few would say something stupid out loud in nervousness. Some people fail a lot of tests before they finally get it. But really, Im sure the feeling after you finally get it is going to feel amazing after the 2 failed tests. Stealth Fish writes.
